Take a Break
Breathing Reset Timer
Use a simple paced breathing timer with adjustable inhale, hold and exhale intervals.
Use this when you want a simple visual timer for slow, comfortable paced breathing without needing an app, account or preset breathing system.
How this tool works
You choose inhale, optional hold and exhale durations plus the number of cycles. The browser then displays each phase and counts down the seconds. The defaults use a four-second inhale and six-second exhale with no hold, but every value is adjustable.
How to read the result
This is a timing utility, not a treatment for anxiety, panic, respiratory conditions or any other health issue. Comfortable breathing matters more than matching a timer.
Example
A five-cycle session using four seconds in and six seconds out lasts about 50 seconds. Adding a hold changes both the rhythm and total duration, so the tool lets you choose what feels comfortable rather than forcing a named technique.
What to watch for
- Stop the timer and return to normal breathing if you feel dizzy, short of breath, uncomfortable or unwell.
- Do not use breath holding if a clinician has advised you to avoid it or if it feels uncomfortable.

Limitations
Use the result as a planning aid. ZeroStress tools do not diagnose stress, anxiety, burnout or any other medical or psychological condition. Financial tools provide arithmetic and scenario comparisons rather than personal financial advice. Important medical, legal, financial, safety or other professional decisions require appropriate professional advice.
Frequently asked questions
Is this box breathing or 4-7-8 breathing?
It can imitate different patterns if you choose those timings, but ZeroStress does not prescribe a specific protocol.
Why is the hold optional?
Some people prefer continuous inhale and exhale pacing. The tool lets you set hold to zero.
