Clear Your Head

Overwhelm Sorter

Sort competing tasks into what needs action now, what can wait, what can be delegated and what needs more thought.

Use this when several tasks, reminders or responsibilities are competing for attention and you need a first pass at what belongs where.

How this tool works

You enter up to ten items and place each one into a practical action group. The tool does not score your stress level. It helps you separate immediate action from work that can wait, move elsewhere or needs more thought.

How to read the result

The useful output is the grouped list. Start with the smallest credible item in “Do next” rather than trying to clear every group at once.

Example

A list containing “send proposal”, “book dentist”, “research new laptop”, “reply to supplier” and “remember holiday idea” may look equally active in your head. Sorting can reveal that only the proposal and supplier reply need action today, while the other items can be scheduled or parked.

What to watch for

  • Do not put every item into “Do next”. If that happens, run the Priority Picker on that group.
  • Use “Needs more thought” for items that are too vague to classify rather than forcing a false decision.

Privacy

Your entries are processed in your browser by this tool. They are not submitted to ZeroStress or stored on our server.

Limitations

Use the result as a planning aid. ZeroStress tools do not diagnose stress, anxiety, burnout or any other medical or psychological condition. Financial tools provide arithmetic and scenario comparisons rather than personal financial advice. Important medical, legal, financial, safety or other professional decisions require appropriate professional advice.

Frequently asked questions

Does the sorter decide what is urgent?

No. You make the classification because the tool cannot know your deadlines, consequences or personal context.

Should I include ideas as well as tasks?

Yes, but ideas often belong in “Leave for later” unless they require a concrete action now.
