Plan Your Day
Priority Picker
Compare several tasks using deadline, consequence, importance, dependency and effort.
Use this when several tasks all seem important and you want a consistent way to compare them.
How this tool works
Each task receives a 1–5 rating for deadline pressure, consequence of delay, importance, dependency and effort. The score is deadline × 3 + consequence × 3 + importance × 2 + dependency × 2 − effort.
How to read the result
A higher score gives a task a stronger case for earlier attention based on the ratings you supplied. The score is a planning aid rather than an objective measure of value.
Example
A ten-minute approval that unblocks three colleagues can outrank a larger piece of work because the dependency and consequence ratings are high. A visible but low-consequence request may fall lower even if it arrived recently.
What to watch for
- Do not inflate every factor to 5. The tool becomes useful only when ratings create meaningful differences.
- Effort reduces the score slightly, but a difficult task can still rank first when its deadline or consequence is strong.

Limitations
Use the result as a planning aid. ZeroStress tools do not diagnose stress, anxiety, burnout or any other medical or psychological condition. Financial tools provide arithmetic and scenario comparisons rather than personal financial advice. Important medical, legal, financial, safety or other professional decisions require appropriate professional advice.
Frequently asked questions
Why is effort subtracted?
Effort represents the amount of capacity a task consumes. It has less weight than deadline and consequence so easy tasks do not automatically dominate.
Should I keep the ranking all day?
No. Recalculate when deadlines, dependencies or available time change.
