Make a Decision

Should I Do This Today?

Check whether a single task deserves space in today’s plan based on urgency, consequence and available capacity.

Use this when one task is competing for space in today’s schedule and you want to check both priority and capacity.

How this tool works

The tool combines 1–5 ratings for urgency, consequence, importance and dependency, then checks whether the estimated effort fits the uncommitted time you entered.

How to read the result

A task can have a strong case for today and still fail the capacity check. That usually means another task must move, the scope must shrink or more time must become available.

Example

A task can score highly because it blocks another team, yet still require three hours when only one hour remains. The tool separates “deserves attention” from “fits today”.

What to watch for

  • Do not treat lack of capacity as proof the task is unimportant.
  • Use realistic uncommitted time after meetings and fixed obligations.

Privacy

Your entries are processed in your browser by this tool. They are not submitted to ZeroStress or stored on our server.

Limitations

Use the result as a planning aid. ZeroStress tools do not diagnose stress, anxiety, burnout or any other medical or psychological condition. Financial tools provide arithmetic and scenario comparisons rather than personal financial advice. Important medical, legal, financial, safety or other professional decisions require appropriate professional advice.

Frequently asked questions

What if a task scores low but has a hard deadline today?

Recheck the ratings. A genuine hard deadline should normally produce a high urgency score and often a meaningful consequence score as well.
