Plan Your Day

Weekly Capacity Calculator

Estimate how many usable work hours remain after meetings, routine commitments and buffer time.

Use this before planning a week so routine commitments do not disappear from the capacity calculation.

How this tool works

Usable weekly time = total available work hours − fixed commitments − chosen buffer. The tool then compares planned task hours with that usable time.

How to read the result

The result depends on your estimates. Include recurring meetings and known administrative work if they consume time from the same weekly capacity.

Example

A 40-hour week with 11 hours of fixed commitments and a four-hour buffer leaves 25 hours for planned project work. A 32-hour task list is already seven hours larger than that capacity.

What to watch for

  • Do not count the same hour twice across meetings and task estimates.
  • Recalculate after new meetings, leave or deadlines materially change the week.

Limitations

Use the result as a planning aid. ZeroStress tools do not diagnose stress, anxiety, burnout or any other medical or psychological condition. Financial tools provide arithmetic and scenario comparisons rather than personal financial advice. Important medical, legal, financial, safety or other professional decisions require appropriate professional advice.

Frequently asked questions

Is a 40-hour week automatically 40 hours of task capacity?

No. Fixed commitments and deliberate margin reduce the hours available for discretionary planned work.
