Recurring Commitment Audit
Calculate the weekly and monthly time cost of recurring meetings, reports, admin, classes, care and other fixed commitments.
Use this when recurring commitments consume time before you begin planning discretionary work. The audit converts repeated commitments into a comparable weekly and monthly time cost.
How this tool works
Add recurring commitments with duration and frequency. The tool normalises each item to weekly hours, totals the list and estimates a monthly equivalent using 52 weeks ÷ 12 months.
How to read the result
The result shows committed time, not wasted time. A recurring commitment may be essential. The audit helps you see the cost clearly before deciding whether to keep, shorten, delegate, batch or reschedule anything.
Example
A one-hour weekly meeting, a 30-minute daily report and a two-hour fortnightly class total about 4.5 hours per week. That time should be removed from weekly capacity before assigning project work.
What to watch for
- Include preparation or follow-up when it reliably belongs to the commitment.
- Avoid counting the same recurring meeting again in a separate fixed-commitments total.
- Review frequency when an item happens monthly or fortnightly rather than weekly.

Limitations
Use the result as a planning aid. ZeroStress tools do not diagnose stress, anxiety, burnout or any other medical or psychological condition. Financial tools provide arithmetic and scenario comparisons rather than personal financial advice. Important medical, legal, financial, safety or other professional decisions require appropriate professional advice.
Frequently asked questions
Should I remove commitments with a high time cost?
The calculator does not make that decision. It shows the time cost so you can compare the commitment with its purpose and your available capacity.
