How this tool works
You enter the start and end of your working day, fixed commitments, estimated task minutes and a buffer. The planner calculates total fixed time, task time, buffer and remaining usable capacity. It deliberately avoids inventing exact times for every task when your schedule may contain overlaps or changing events.
How to read the result
A negative margin means the task list is larger than the usable day. Reduce scope, move a task, change the buffer or reconsider an estimate before treating the plan as realistic.
Example
An eight-hour day with two hours of meetings, 30 minutes of buffer and six hours of tasks is already 30 minutes over capacity. The planner makes that conflict visible before the day begins.
What to watch for
- Do not use optimistic estimates simply to make the plan fit.
- Include preparation, follow-up and transition time if those consume the same working hours.

Why does the tool not assign exact task start times automatically?
Because a simple browser tool cannot reliably resolve overlapping fixed events, task dependencies, energy preferences or changing schedules. It first checks whether the plan fits, which is the more important constraint.
What should I do after the plan fits?
Place the highest-value task blocks into the open periods around fixed commitments, then keep the buffer unallocated.
